OpenType Compatible Systems and Programs
Our SmartFonts 6.x will work in the following programs when contextual alternates are enabled in the program:

TrueType Compatible Systems and Programs
Schoolhouse Fonts TrueType versions 4.x and 5.x for Windows; 5.x for Mac OS X.
What programs do I need to have?
Windows: Windows XP, Vista or 7; Microsoft Word 2002 - 2010 to use the vLetter Toolbar for Word. Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later is needed to view the user guide.
Macintosh: Mac OS X 10.4 through 10.6.
What programs does Schoolhouse Fonts work with?
- Microsoft Word 2002 - 2010 for Windows
- Windows WordPad and Notepad
- Microsoft Word 2004 - 2011 for Mac
- TextEdit, AppleWorks, and Pages for Mac
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat (Mac or Windows)
- Adobe InDesign for Windows
- Adobe InDesign CS3 or later for Mac OS X (CS2 and earlier versions are buggy on Macs)
- Adobe Flash (as reported by other customers)
- QuarkXPress 7.0 (Mac or Windows)
What programs does Schoolhouse Fonts NOT work with?
- WordPerfect versions after version 8 have conflicts with vLetter fonts. We recommend using Microsoft Word.
- QuarkXPress version 6.x is very problematic.
- Microsoft Publisher (2007 and earlier) has difficulty with some of the characters for TrueType fonts. We recommend using Microsoft Word or InDesign for Windows.
- InDesign CS1 and CS2 are very buggy in Mac OS X.
- "Open" Office programs: many open source freeware programs are works in progress and may contain bugs that need to be resolved.
What about printers?
- We cannot recommend a specific brand or model of printer.
- A few people have reported problems printing on the HP P1005, P1006 and P1505 models of laser printers.
